THE STORY

Kindling Bridal founder Kerri Walton was inspired to start her own bridal wear label after searching for her own wedding dress in late 2016. She knew the modern and relaxed style she had in mind but, after a long search, she realised just how important it was to her to find something with high quality fabrics that was made in the UK, so she set out designing and making her own.

Having graduated with a degree in fashion design at Salford University, Kerri went on to work at Giles and Hunza in London, and brands in Norway and Australia. On her return to the UK, after a couple of years travelling the world, and seeing first hand the impact that the fashion industry can have on the planet - plastics washed up on beautiful remote beaches and smog in cities from mass-production, she struggled to feel comfortable with a design role within the contemporary fashion industry, which often relies heavily on outsourcing and mass-production outside of the UK.

This is how Kindling’s spark ignited.

Now, Kerri considers bridalwear design to be a perfect fit - counting herself very lucky to get to combine her passion of creating beautiful, meaningful pieces with a deep-rooted love of love, romance, weddings and getting to meet brides who she can happily talk weddings with all day long.

Outside of all things weddings, she has pretty simple pleasures in life - seeking adventures with her husband, daughters and their dog, exploring the country in their renovated campervan, or cooking and eating copious amounts of good food with friends. She’s also partial to a good foodie related podcast, and that’s usually what’s playing aloud in the showroom when no one else is around.
