Real Bride: CHARLOTTE AND ROBERT

What a joy to get to create a bespoke gown for Charlotte. Not only is she the most caring, kind and uplifting girl in any room, she is a dear friend and I felt truly honoured when she asked me to make her dress. She is a fashion designer so she has a very strong sense of her own style, she knew exactly what she wanted, so it was very much a collaboration! She was never going to have a traditional dress, so it seems that those shimmering, iridescent blue sequins were made for Charlotte. We lined it with a gorgeous blue silk and we designed a simple silhouette to really let the fabric do the talking - a slip dress with wrap panel and a modern slit so she could really bust some moves on the dance floor.
This is one of those dresses that truly represents the bride - modern, fun and anything but standard!
She styled it with a custom Pyxis Veil, on which we replaced the pearls with some blue sequin fabric to match the dress, and she looked like a real life mermaid. She married Robert at Hackney Town Hall in a beautiful, intimate ceremony, followed by one hell of a party with all of their loved ones afterwards. I was heavily pregnant at the time but even I couldn’t resist staying on the dance floor til the early hours of the morning. The love in the room was palpable, which was no surprise, as Charlotte and Robert simply got back what they put out into the world - nothing but love and joy!
